Scott Lacey Ballard

July 19, 1953 — May 10, 2014

Scott Lacey Ballard, 60, of Camillus, passed away Saturday May 10, 2014 at University Hospital. A longtime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of Corcoran High School. Scott loved to golf and watch baseball and softball. He played baseball at Corcoran High School and went on to coach girls softball there. He was inducted into the Corcoran Sports Hall of Fame. He was a proud father and poppa. Scott was predeceased by his parents, Frieda and Norman Ballard; stepfather, Edward Strutz; and sisters, Linda Capria and Leslie Ballard. Surviving are his daughter, Lacey (Matthew) Dowd of Onondaga Hill; sister, Marcia (Nicholas) Pidkaminy of Tennessee; brother, Douglas Ballard of Camillus; former wife, Deborah Ballard of Westvale; grandchildren, Cameron and Tanner Dowd of Onondaga Hill; and many aunts uncles, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, May 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 14 at the Buranich Funeral Home. Scott will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery.
