Sarah K. Dollard, 93, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Crouse Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born in Detroit, Michigan on Thursday, October 2, 1919, she was the daughter of Frank and Nellie King. She lived in Rochester before moving to Syracuse in 1952. Sarah retired in 1990 after 22 years with Syracuse University working with the SU office of the Peace Corps, the International Management Development Dept. and as an executive assistant to Dr. Alan Robinson. She was a communicant of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family. Sarah was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Sr.; and brothers, Leo Bischoff and George Whitman. Surviving are her son, R.J. Dollard of Syracuse; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Robert Tschernjawski and Nancy and David Olson, all of Camillus, Kathleen and Fred Weinheimer of Minoa, Mary and Stephen Dougherty of Syracuse, and Anne Dollard of Palmer, Alaska; grandchildren, Michael Weinheimer, Kevin Weinheimer, Mary and Peter Kirk, Tim Tschernjawski, Emily Tschernjawski, Sarah Olson, Anna Olson, Robert Dougherty, Cal Dougherty and Caroline Dougherty; great-granddaughter, Olivia Kirk; godchild, Patricia Jeffers of Manlius; sister-in-law, Nelle Bischoff of Belen, New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews. Sarah's family wishes to extend their gratitude to Crouse Hospital, Sedgwick Heights Assisted Living and Loretto Fahey for their compassionate and loving care. Relatives and friends may call Monday, March 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be Tuesday, March 19 at 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home and at 10:30 a.m. in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception where a funeral Mass will be celebrated.
