Sandra Burgett, 84, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Thursday at Cortland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a graduate of Fayetteville Manlius High School. Sandra dedicated over 20 years of her life as a valued teller at KeyBank. Additionally, she served on the Board of Realtors for a decade and contributed her time and skills at Pine Grove Health & Country Club. Her involvement in the community extended to her membership in the Camillus Elks Auxiliary, where she found joy in giving back.
A woman of many interests, Sandra enjoyed immersing herself in the pages of books, finding solace and inspiration in literature. However, her greatest source of joy came from spending precious moments with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sandra was predeceased by her former husband, Frank Burgett in 2019; parents, Leonard and Elizabeth Aylesworth; and brothers, Kenneth and Jerome Aylesworth.
Surviving are her daughters, Marlene Burgett of Memphis, Debbie Burgett of Cicero, and Kim (Gary) Shephard of Memphis; son, Sean (Bonnie) of Camillus; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Dacey of Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews.
To celebrate Sandra’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home.
Sandra will be laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Elbridge.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Upstate Cancer Center, 750 E. Adams St., Syracuse, NY 13210.
