Salvatore "Sal" Pullano, 95, of Camillus, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017. A lifetime resident, Sal grew up on Delhi Street in Syracuse and was a graduate of North High School and Syracuse University. He served in the Navy during WWII aboard the USS Whitney in the Pacific. Sal was employed for 33 years at ONBank, retiring in 1983 as an assistant vice-president. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church, enjoyed golf and was a member of the Lakeshore Country Club, Moose Club and American Italian Heritage.
Salvatore was predeceased by his daughter, Theresa Lee Towers; brothers, Lewis and Joseph Pullano; and sisters, Filomena Pullano, Rose Gentile, Catheine Cusano, Thomasina Procopio and Clemetina LoGalbo.
Surviving are his wife of 71 years, the former Cecelia DiBiase; daughter, Rita Ann (John) Downing of Camillus; longtime friend, Tony Calarese; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, October 2 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Holy Family Church. Salvatore will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
