Ruth M. (Atwood) Wood

Ruth M. (Atwood) Wood, 94, of Howlett Hill, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 at home. Born and raised in Syracuse, she lived in Pinehurst, North Carolina for six years before moving back to the Syracuse area in 1993.
Ruth was employed for over 20 years with HSBC Bank in Syracuse. She was a member of the Eastern Star and also enjoyed traveling and shopping. Above all, she loved spending time with family and friends.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Albert, in 1994; daughter-in-law, Susan Wood, in 2018; and brother, William Atwood, in 2000.
Surviving are her daughter, Cherie Murphy of Howlett Hill; son, Gary Wood of Marcellus; grandchildren, Kevin, Jennifer and Elizabeth; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private. Ruth will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
