Ruth A. Dame, 88, of Elbridge, died Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Francis House. Born in Dayton, Ohio on Tuesday, July 27, 1920, she was the daughter of Edward Kuester and Cora Whaley Kuester. She lived in White Plains before moving to the Syracuse area. Ruth was owner of The Dames Restaurant in Marcellus, retiring in 1989 after 11 years. An animal lover, she enjoyed llamas, cats and dogs. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking and collecting antiques. Her husband, Edward, died in 2004, and son, Frank, died in 2007. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Sigmond and Denise Pieklik of Jordan; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Pieklik of Auburn; grandchildren, Matthew (Thy) of Houston, Texas, Joseph of Baldwinsville, Jeffrey of Jordan, Kristopher of Syracuse, Brianne of Rhode Island and Stephanie Pieklik of Auburn; and great-granddaughters, Sonya and Emily. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2008 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus with Rev. John DeLorenzeo officiating. Friends may call Sunday, October 19, 2008 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Elbridge.
