Rudolph F. Karasek, 88, of Camillus, died Monday, September 3, 2007 at Community-General Hospital. Born in Herkimer on Sunday, September 22, 1918, he was the son of Joseph and Mary Herkel Karasek. He lived in Fort Herkimer before moving to Camillus in 1954. Rudy graduated from Herkimer High School and owned and operated High Path Stock Farm in Camillus for more than 50 years. He was also owner of the Camillus Livestock Sales. Rudy was a former member of both the Holstein Friesian Association and Farm Bureau. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. An avid hunter, Rudy also enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling. Rudy was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph in 2006 and Edward in 2001. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, the former Helena J. Bukatko; son and daughter-in-law, Rudolph and Pat Karasek of Camillus; sister, Mary Sigmund, of Garland, Texas; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2007 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Thursday, September 6, 2007 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
