Rosemary LeFevre, 87, of Solvay, passed away peacefully on Mother's Day, May 12, 2024. After retiring from her lengthy career as a legal secretary for the Baptist Convention of New York, Rosemary transitioned seamlessly into her second vocation as “Grandma Rosie”, an exceptional caregiver to her granddaughters, Madeline and Sophia. With a blend of kindness, gentleness, and firmness, “Grandma Rosie” lovingly guided her granddaughters. Even on their tranquil dead-end street, the girls respected the boundaries she set, never crossing the chalk line in the driveway. Her philosophy of “Let’s learn something new today!” profoundly influenced them, playing a pivotal role in shaping them into the remarkable young women they are today.
Rosemary's absence will be deeply felt by all who were touched by her presence, and the world would undoubtedly be a better place if more individuals had the privilege of experiencing the love and guidance of a “Grandma Rosie”.
Rosemary was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Josephine Destefano; and sister, Lucille Destefano.
Surviving are her sons, Frank (Laurie Couse) and Michael; brother, Frank Jr. (Fran); granddaughters, Leah, Madeline, and Sophia LeFevre; niece and nephew, Janine (Brian) Spiro and Frank Destefano III; grandnephews, Paul, Asher, Christopher, and Harrison Spiro; and special daughter in law, Maryellen LeFevre.
