Rose S. Wisniewski, 93, of Cicero, passed away of natural causes on Thursday, March 4, 2021 after a brief stay at Francis House.
Rose was born to Alexander and Anna Brzezinski and raised in Dexter. She relocated to Syracuse when she was 18. Rose was employed as a bookkeeper and later met and married Edward Wisniewski of Syracuse in 1953. Together and with other family members, they raised a family and successfully ran Wisniewski Meat and Grocery Store in Syracuse, a business that was in the family since 1921.
Rose was also employed with Crouse-Hinds Company for 20 years and retired in 1992. She continued working for Armourseal Co., a business owned by her eldest son, Mark, where she helped with accounting, paperwork and day-to-day operations.
In 1988, Rose relocated to the family lake house in Cicero. She was an avid and dedicated bowler and enjoyed watching and cheering for the NY Yankees. Rose’s family was most important to her.
Rose was predeceased by her husband, Edward; and brothers, Chester, Tony and Albert.
Surviving are her sister, Jesse Kasten of Lakeland, FL; sons, Mark (Kim) of Bridgeport, Robert (Glenna) of Skaneateles and John (Patricia) of Jamesville; daughter, Carol (Joseph) Niedzwecki of Baldwinsville; grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Stephanie Wisniewski, Brian Niedzwecki, Tim Niedzwecki, Katie Wisniewski, Christopher Wisniewski, Kevin Niedzwecki, Craig Simmons and Chris Simmons; and several nieces and nephews. Although she has left us, we will always have her in our hearts.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, March 8 from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Face coverings are required.
A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 927 Park Ave., Syracuse. Rose will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes.
