Rose Farrugia Piston

Rose Farrugia Piston, 87, of Camillus, passed away Monday at Upstate Community Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, Rose was a graduate of North High School and a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church. She adored her four grandsons and truly enjoyed spending time with her family.

Rose was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Donald in 2012; parents, Nicholas and Pauline; brothers, Joseph and John; and sisters, Jean and Tillie.

Surviving are her son, Michael (Carla Havard) Piston of Syracuse; grandsons, Joseph, David, Daniel (Katie) and Mark (Nikki) Piston; sister, Hilde Prior of East Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Saturday, December 18 from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus, 13031.

A memorial service will follow at 10 a.m. Private burial will be in St. John’s the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Syracuse.
