Ronald M. Troch Sr., 83, of Solvay, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at home. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a man of great character and dedication. After graduating from Central High School in 1959, Ronald honorably served in the U.S. Air Force before embarking on a distinguished career as a tool and die maker, devoting 25 years of his life to Welch Allyn, Inc. until his retirement in 2006.
A man of many interests, Ronald was a member of the Camillus Sportsmen's Club where he delighted in the camaraderie of others. His faith was a guiding light throughout his life, first as a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church and later as a devoted communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church. Ronald had a deep appreciation for the arts, enjoying plays and music, and relished the thrill of playing the penny slots at casinos.
Ronald was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Nellie; and brothers, Richard and Nicholas Jr.
Surviving are his sons, Ronald Jr. and James (Shelley); significant other of 10 years, Helen Waters; sister, Mary Robinson; sisters-in-law, Jane and Mary Troch; and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
To celebrate Ronald’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Marianne Cope Parish at St. Cecilia’s Church, 1001 Woods Rd., Solvay. A funeral Mass will follow at the church.
Ronald will be laid to rest in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Syracuse.
