Ronald Leeman Pratt Sr., 94, of Baldwinsville, passed away peacefully on Saturday at Syracuse Home at McHarrie Place. Born in Oswego, he was raised in Fulton and moved to the Syracuse area in 1958, where Ron built a life filled with hard work, love, and cherished memories.
He proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, embodying the strength and resilience that defined his life. After his service, Ron worked for General Electric and later dedicated over 42 years to Crouse Hinds in Syracuse. Known for his infectious love of life, Ron found joy in simple, yet meaningful, pleasures. He was a skilled bowler, an enthusiastic pool player, and an accomplished harmonica player, delighting others with his music. Ron’s passion for dancing lit up every room he entered, and his deep love of music brought endless joy to those around him.
Above all, Ronald’s greatest love was his family. He cherished every moment spent with them, creating a legacy of love, laughter, and togetherness that will forever be remembered.
Ron was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Delores in 2018; brothers, Wayne, Erwin and Warren; and daughter-in-law, Mary in 2024.
Surviving are his son, Ronald Jr. of Auburn; daughter, Melanie (Robert) Kidd of Baldwinsville; grandchildren, Chloe, Katelyn and Ronald III; sister-in-law, Maggie of Cicero; and several nieces and nephews.
The family of Ron would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Syracuse Home at McHarrie Place for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Ron over the past four years.
