Ronald J. Lagoe, 75, passed away on Monday at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse after a brief illness. Ronald served as the executive director of the Hospital Executive Council for over 40 years and took great pride in his career. Ronald published many peer-reviewed articles throughout his life, primarily focused on healthcare planning. He had many personal interests as well, including astronomy, space exploration, history, and football. He earned multiple degrees from Ohio University, including two individual PhDs, one in History and one in Public Administration. Ronald was also a devoted and attentive caretaker for his mother for many years. He cared greatly about animals and owned many pets throughout his lifetime, including his beloved dog, Ruthie, and many other admired dachshunds, including Yapper, Gretchen, and Emmy. He will be greatly missed by his family, colleagues, and friends.
Ronald was predeceased by his parents, Helen (Teifke) and John Lagoe; and his grandson Colin Riegert.
Surviving are his children, Carolyn (Chris) Hinton, Frank (Liz Wible) Lagoe and Victoria (Lance Riegert) Lagoe; grandchildren, Cecilia, Nicholas, Sean, Evan, and Logan Riegert; brother, David (Mary Jo) Lagoe; nephew, Michael Lagoe; many long-term colleagues and friends, including but not limited to, Karen Fekete, Shelly Littau, and Susan Carroll.
To celebrate Ronald’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will follow.
