Ronald D. "Chet" Chester, 56, of Geddes, passed away with his loving family by his side on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Crouse Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he graduated from Westhill High School and attended OCC. Ronnie worked for 38 years with the Town of Geddes Highway Department before retiring in 2016 as highway superintendent. He was a member of the Solvay Tyrol Club and United Steelworkers and a former Geddes Little League coach. Ronnie was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer and enjoyed cooking, but above all, loved spending time with his family, especially attending his sons sporting events. Ronnie was predeceased by his sister, Maryann; and brother, Ralph. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, the former Carol Colapaolo; sons, Cody, RJ, Hunter, Jesse and Taden, all of Syracuse; siblings, Robert (Lucille) of Clifton, NJ and Julia, Susan, Diane and Nancy (Mark) Hard, all of Syracuse; several nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Jeter. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, May 31 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be Wednesday, June 1 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
