Roland F. Link, 80, of Bonita Springs, FL, formally of Camillus, passed away Friday, October 17, 2014. Born and raised in Germany, he immigrated to Canada and later to Cleveland, Ohio where he became a U.S. Citizen. Upon completing high school, he trained to be a tool and die maker and later worked for General Motors for 30 years, retiring as General Director of European Operations. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Naples, FL. Roland enjoyed reading, listening to music, and being outdoors. Surviving are his wife of 59 1/2 years, the former Brigitte Himmert; brother, Norbert Link of Germany; three nephews and many close friends in Syracuse and Florida. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, October 23 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday, October 24 in St. Joseph's Church, Camillus. Roland will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery in Warners.
