Robert J. Stepien, 82, of Syracuse, and Melbourne, FL, passed away on Wednesday. Bob was born to Joseph and Ann Stepien in Syracuse. He attended Sacred Heart School, was a proud regents scholarship winner, and graduated from CBA in 1958. Bob continued his education at Le Moyne College and Syracuse University. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Coast Guard. He retired from Chase Bank (Lincoln Bank) as vice president.
Bob and Mary Lou spent many years owning a camp on the St. Lawrence River and loved boating and fishing with their friends.
Bob was predeceased by his parents; brother, Joseph “Joey”; sister-in-law, Donna Stepien; and mother-in-law, Mary Frances Coleman.
Surviving are his loving wife of 38 years (June 15, 1985), the former Mary Lou Coleman; daughter, Geraldine (Rich) Campbell of Burlington, KY; son, Michael of West Palm Beach, FL; brother, Paul (Barbara) of Camillus and Mt. Dora, FL; and brother-in-law, Terry Coleman of Owego. He was Dziadzi to five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and special person, Jenna Lombardo Duprey; as well as cousins, nieces, and a nephew.
Bob was loved very much and will be missed beyond words.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 5600 West Genesee St., Camillus. A luncheon will follow immediately after the Mass at Camillus Elks Lodge, 6114 Newport Rd., Camillus, NY.
