Robert "Bob" J. Frank

Robert "Bob" J. Frank, 69, of Camillus, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at home. Born in Utica, he lived in Syracuse since 1950 and was a graduate of St. Anthony's High School. He was a Navy veteran during the Vietnam War. Bob retired in 2003 after 28 years with New Process Gear and was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. He was a member of IBEW Local 43, UAW Local 624 and served on the board of directors of WHOLE ME, Inc. He was an honorary member of the Fairmount Fire Dept. An avid SU sports fan and golfer, he also enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Florida. He embraced and celebrated his Irish heritage. Bob loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed going to all their sporting events and was their number one fan. Christmas was his favorite time of the year where he enjoyed decorating and putting up lights but most of all being Santa's special helper, "wink". Bob was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary Frank; and sister, Kathryn Frank. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, the former Judy Geer; daughters, Tammy Bingham of Camillus, Shelly (John) Dunham of Lakeland and Mary Kay (Benji) Osborne of Rochester; brother, Bernard (Judy) Frank of Penfield; grandchildren, Amanda, Becca, and John Robert Bingham, Tyler, Kenzie and Kayla Dunham, and Sammie and Dylan Osborne; many nieces, nephews and friends. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, August 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 21 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. Bob will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
