Robert “Bob” Godsen, 83, of Westvale, passed away Thursday May 30, 2019 at University Hospital. He was born on May 30, 1936 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Al and Betty Godsen. Bob joined the Army on January 30, 1955 and was honorably discharged on January 30, 1958. He attended Penn Technical Institute where he obtained a degree in electronic technology. Bob started his career as a technician at GE and eventually became a company engineer at ICR. On October 22, 1966, Bob married the love of his life, Ursula Claremont and they had three children. He enjoyed walking, hiking, running and completed eight marathons.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Ursula; children, Mike (Rachel) Godsen, Debbie (Rob) DePalma and Scott (Richard Platt) Godsen; sister, Betty Ann Pecoraro; brothers, Tom (Patti) Godsen and Rich (Carol) Godsen; granddaughters, Abigail and Bridget Godsen; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday, June 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, June 3 at 10 a.m. in St. Charles~St. Ann's Parish, 501 South Orchard Rd., Syracuse. Robert will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Camillus.
