Robert "Bob" E. Dolengo, 84, of Camillus, passed away of a broken heart on Monday, June 29, 2020, nine days after losing the love of his life, Patty.
Bob and Patty were to celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary on the day he passed away. Their life together was a true love story that began as high school sweethearts.
Besides Patty, Bob loved sports. He made all county in football and basketball while attending Warners High School. His real passion was basketball which earned him the nickname “Swish” by his brother, Fred. Bob was an avid reader, artist and master carpenter. He could build anything and everything. He also enjoyed being outdoors in his yard.
Bob was predeceased by his wife, Patricia; parents, Joseph and Bridget; sister, Denise Corrente; grandchild, Kori Lee Kantak; and sister-in-law, Antonia Dolengo.
Surviving are his daughters, Karen Conte of Camillus, Cathy (Dave) Solarte of Memphis and Cindy (Dan) McCarthy of Camillus; son, Robert (Valerie) Dolengo of Johns Island, SC; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Joseph of San Diego, CA and Frederick (Mary Jane) of Lakeland; and several nieces and nephews.
Bob’s family and friends truly loved him. His children thought the world of him and will forever miss their dad.
