Robert “Moe” Havranko, 61, of Camillus, passed away Friday, July 31, 2009. Born in Syracuse on Wednesday, March 3, 1948, he was the son of the late Ferdinand and Ruth Havranko. A graduate of West Genesee High School, Robert served in the US Navy and did two tours on the USS Saratoga. He was employed by Camillus Cutlery Co. for 30 years and retired from Loretto/PACE CNY as a transportation driver. Robert was a 40-year lifetime member of the Camillus Volunteer Fire Department and in July received the prestigious "Red Coat Award". He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. Moe was famous for his stories and jokes and his family will always smile with reminders of his “shortcuts” on car rides. Surviving are Patricia; children, Jennifer (Michael) Hoover and Andrew Havranko; and granddaughter, Carlyn Hoover. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. There will be no calling hours. Robert will be laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery, Camillus.
