Robert Charles Kane Jr.

Camillus

Robert Charles Kane Jr., 95, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Monday at home. A lifelong resident of Syracuse, he graduated from CBA in 1947 and was a proud member of the first graduating class of Le Moyne College in 1951. In 1952, he married his beloved wife, Marie, at Most Holy Rosary Church, beginning a wonderful life together.

Robert had a successful career of 30-plus years with New York Life, where he earned awards and yearly recognition trips. A devout communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, he was also a longtime member of Tuscarora Golf Club.

A lifelong learner, Robert found great joy in reading, gardening, painting, fishing, golfing, and telling stories and jokes. He cherished time spent with his family. 

Robert was predeceased by his wife, Marie, in 2019; son, J. Michael Kane; brother, William E. Kane; and sister, Elizabeth J. Tobin.

Surviving are his children, Mary Beth (Stephen) Fee, Theresa (Jeff) Smith, Thomas Kane, Martin (Ann) Kane, Brian (Lisa) Kane, Margaret Patch, and Robert Kane III; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

To celebrate Robert’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, March 10, 2025, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will follow in the church. 

Robert will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
