Robert J. Amerman, 82, of Camillus, passed away Friday at Crouse Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a U.S. Navy veteran. Robert was a truck driver for the Teamsters Local 317 for more than 30 years and later a bus driver for the West Genesee Central School District. He was a member of the Camillus Elks and enjoyed trains, Dunkin’ Donuts and boating on Skaneateles Lake. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Genevieve and son, Robert.
Surviving are his wife, the former Terry Tokaryk; daughter, Shari (David) Rustay of Syracuse; grandson, Cameron; sister, Michelle Laure of Camillus; stepbrother, David Amerman of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Saturday, October 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will follow at noon. Robert will be laid to rest in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Syracuse.
