Robert Frank Keane, 81, of Camillus, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Loretto. Born and raised in Douglas, Arizona, he lived in Gary, Indiana from 1945 until moving to Camillus in 1953. Bob was a 1950 graduate of Tolleston High School where he met his bride, Doris, and a 1952 graduate of Valparaiso Institute of Technology. He served in the US Army from 1955-1957 and was employed by GE for 42 years, retiring in 1992. Bob was an active member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church where he held various offices. He was also a member of Fairmount Community Library, the Elfun Society of GE, and the Camillus Sportsmen's Club. He enjoyed golf, including making his own clubs, and woodworking. An avid traveler, he was a member of the Irish American League. Surviving are his wife, the former Doris Ann Kendt; daughters, Kathleen (John) Flanders of Camillus and Kristine (Karl) Ashley of Clay; son, Scott Keane of Syracuse; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call Saturday, February 22 from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Michael's Lutheran Church. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Robert will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
