Robert E. Schwarz, 90, of Camillus, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Upstate University Hospital at Community General. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of Most Holy Rosary School and a member of the first graduating class of Le Moyne College in 1951. Robert was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a former partner in the Dobricki Insurance Agency and an adjuster at the Insurance Co. of North America. He was also vice president of Metropolitan Tops N Temps and finished his career at Green & Seifter. He was a former member of Knights of Columbus and communicant of St. Joseph's Church. A former communicant of St. Ann's Church, Robert was a founding member of St. Ann’s Parish and member of its Holy Name Society. He was also a member of Bellevue Country Club since 1972 and enjoyed golf, reading and spending time at his family camp. Robert was predeceased by his wife, Helen in 1999; sister, Margaret Carroll and son-in-law, David Dyer. Surviving are his daughters, Sharon Dyer of Camillus and Sheila (James) Paolini of Manlius; grandchildren, Kimberly (Brett) Dyer, David (Jackie) Dyer, Kevin (Tiffany) Dyer, Shane (Cara) Dyer, Bryan (Jessica) Dyer, and Christian, Nathan and Elena Paolini; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 7 in St. Joseph's Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Robert will be laid to rest at the convenience of the family in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. His body was donated to the anatomical program at Upstate Medical University.
