Robert F. DeBottis, 61, of Jordan, passed away Friday at home, surrounded by his family. A lifetime resident of the Camillus area, Bob was the first baby born in Syracuse on the day that JFK was elected President. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, playing the harmonica, and listening to classic rock and blues music, which he had an encyclopedic knowledge of. He loved his family and both his family and Catholic faith were a source of strength and support over the years.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, Velma and Robert DeBottis.
Surviving are his sisters, Christina DeBottis (Mike Minet) of Marcellus and Kathy (Jake) Newhouse of Sedona, AZ; nephew, Jesse (Nicole) Raynes of Hermosa Beach, CA; nieces, Jennifer (Drew) Lasher of Keene, NH, Liza (Adam) Lebrun of Tigard, OR, Sarah (Craig) Ells of Brentwood, CA, and Suzanne (Erik) Riley of Spofford, NH.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, September 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, September 7 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Robert will be laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
