Robert J. "Bob" Creme

Robert J. “Bob” Creme, 75, of Warners, passed away Tuesday at his home, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Silver Spring, MD, he was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area. A 1971 graduate of SUNY Oswego, Bob began a career in education, teaching 4th grade at Solvay Elementary School until 1986. He earned both his master's degree in 1979 and his CAS degree in 1980 from SUNY Brockport. In October of 1988, Bob served as principal at McNamera Elementary School in Baldwinsville until his retirement in 2003. His number one goal was to provide the best education possible for HIS students. Bob believed that all children could learn and achieve great things. He committed himself to create a learning environment which provided students with the necessary tools to succeed in every decision they made, and dedicated himself to doing whatever needed to be done to make a difference in the lives of children. Bob was a communicant of St. Marianne Cope Parish.

Bob’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Upstate Hospital at Home Program, especially his nurse, Denise, for their loving care and compassion.

Bob was predeceased by his father, Anthony Creme.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Susan; mother, Marigrace Creme of Syracuse; son, Jeremy of Cicero; granddaughter, Julia Creme of Cicero; brother, Ronald of Canastota; sisters, Judy (John) McIlvain of Charlotte, NC, Janet (David) Salenski of Astoria, OR, Joan (Gary) Fierstein of Denton, NC, Jerilyn (Paul) Payne of Fairmount, and Jacqueline (Joe) Congel of Charlotte, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Friday, September 8 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home.

A private burial will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
