Robert Carroll Eldred, 92, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Loretto. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a Marine Corps World War II veteran. He was an accomplished bowler earning numerous trophies and loved to bowl with his wife. Robert coached Camillus and Mid-State youth hockey along with the Terry Town Tigers and Solvay Tigers youth baseball. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church.
Robert was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine, in 2010; and sister, Betty Wozniak.
Surviving are his daughters, Roberta "Robin" (Steve) Brown of Marcellus and Karen Madigan of Camillus; son, Kevin (Barbara Rivet) Eldred of Cazenovia; sisters, Marion Lagoe of Liverpool and Marge Eldred of Syracuse; grandchildren, Meghan and Lauren Brown, Taylor and Jack Eldred and Ryan, Dylan and Michael Madigan.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, December 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, December 6 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Robert will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Syracuse.
