Robert Buck Murphy, 81, of Camillus, died Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Crouse Hospital after a short illness. Born in Plattsburgh on Tuesday, June 3, 1930, he lived in Watertown before moving to Camillus in 1964. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. Bob worked at Marine Midland Bank in Syracuse, retiring in 1996. He was currently working in customer relations at Dave Pirro Ford in Skaneateles. An avid fisherman and hunter, Bob was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and a founding member of the Wolf Pond Mountain Club. Bob was predeceased by his parents, John Joseph Murphy and Ruth Christine Buck Murphy; brothers, John, Patrick and William Murphy; and his sister, Marion Scordo. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, the former Florence Schwalm; daughters and sons-in-law, Rhona (Jimmy Quinn) Murphy of Syracuse and Caroline and James Bianchi of Auburn; sons and daughters-in-law, Brien and Dale of York, Pennsylvania, Michael and Lisa of Reston, Virginia, Robert A. and Lisa of Aiken, South Carolina, Bradford and Sanjeewa of Cincinnati, Ohio, and David and Amy of Jacksonville, Florida; sisters, Neta Lablanc of Plattsburg and Carol Smith of Malmesbury, England; brother, Michael of Canton; grandchildren, Brien and Jeffrey Bianchi, Adam (Rachel) Bianchi, Olivia (Nicholas) Klaben, Caitlin and Shannon Murphy, Joshua (Heather) Murphy, Jessica (Leo) Hanson, and Ryan, Taylor, Allison, Reid, and Meghan Murphy; great-grandsons, Travis, Dallas and Sawyer Bianchi; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, March 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 23 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. Bob will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
