Robert A. Jones

Robert A. Jones, 53, of Camillus, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at University Hospital. Born in Syracuse on Sunday, May 4, 1958, he was a lifetime resident of the Camillus area. He was a 1976 graduate of West Genesee High School and graduate of Onondaga Community College. Robert was employed by Carrier Corp. for eight years and formerly employed by Witherill's and Anaren Microwave. He was a member of Fairmount Community Church United Church of Christ. A former member of Solvay Volunteer Fire Department and Prospect Hose Social Club, Robert was also a former Boy Scout of Troop 183 and master counselor of Iroquois Chapter Order of DeMolay. He was a past member of Sapphire Masonic Lodge #768. An avid bowler and reader, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children. The family wishes to thank the members of the medical staff on 6B of Upstate Medical University Hospital for their care and support. Robert was predeceased by his father, Roy, on April 20, 1979. Surviving are his wife of 23 years, the former Helena Burch; daughter, Sarah Autumn Jones; son: Alan Michael Jones; mother, Gloria Jones, all of Camillus; and sister and brother-in-law, Kandyce and Jack Daley of Onondaga Hill. Relatives and friends may call Friday, December 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, Camillus. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 31 at Fairmount Community Church United Church of Christ with Rev. Gary E. Ferner officiating. Robert will be laid to rest in the spring at Maplewood Cemetery, Camillus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Memorial Fund, Fairmount Community Church United Church of Christ, 4801 W.
