Rita Sprague, 83, of Camillus, is at peace after having passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, surrounded and supported by her loving sons. Born in Albany on Wednesday, February 17, 1926, she was the daughter of Thomas Joseph Sheehan and Anna Elizabeth Gottstein Sheehan. Rita was a graduate of Albany High School and Albany Business College. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Camillus. Rita was passionate about many things, including her family, especially her grandchildren, and her Catholic faith. She enjoyed attending the annual Sheehan family reunions at Lyons Lake, where she spent many happy hours reminiscing with her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank J. Sprague, who died January 13, 2007. Surviving are her four sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Suzanne Sprague of Baldwinsville, Mark and Roxanne Sprague of Mattydale, Joseph and Erica Sprague of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Craig and Judith Sprague of Camillus; eight grandchildren, Shannon, Aaron, Jeremy, Brittany, Christian, Aspen, Timothy and Samantha; and her twin sister, Rose Gervais, whom she loved dearly A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 16 in St. Joseph’s Church. Rita will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. Arrangements are by Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
