Rita Lang, 85, of Westvale, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Crouse Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was born on Monday, December 6, 1926 and was the daughter of Norman Francis James and Mary Agnes Casey James. She was a graduate of Solvay High School. Rita retired from Sears and previously was employed by Dey Brothers, W.T. Grants and as a realtor for Billette Development Corp. She was a communicant of St. Charles-St. Ann’s Church. A longtime devoted volunteer at St. Camillus, she also enjoyed baking (she was the queen of “well done”), red wine, going out to dinner, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rita was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Lang in 1981. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. James P. Lang of Syracuse, Eugene N. and Kathy Lang, Daniel J. and Donna Lang and Timothy E. and Betsy Lang, all of Baldwinsville, and Rev. Brian E. Lang of Syracuse; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of St. Camillus B-Unit, she truly loved you all; and to Betsy Blasland, her dearest friend. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, October 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Charles-St. Ann’s Church, corner of Fay Rd. and So. Orchard Rd. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 5 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Charles-St. Ann’s Church, corner of Fay Rd. and So. Orchard Rd. Rita will be laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery.
