Richard R. Valladares, 84, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at University Hospital. Born in Trinidad, he moved to Long Island in 1949 and Syracuse in 1950. Richard was an Army veteran and graduate of Vocational High School. He worked 36 years in the elevator industry for Haughton Elevator Co., Millar Elevator Industries and retired from Schindler Elevator Co. in 2004. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church. Richard was the neighborhood handyman. He loved spending time with family, vacationing at Hilton Head Island, SC and helping others.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, George and Rhea.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Mary; sons, Bryan (Kristy) of Pennsylvania, Gregory (Janelle) of Colorado and Ian of Camillus; sisters, Pamela Grabosky of Camillus, Elizabeth Canino of Camillus, Heather McDonald of Camillus, Patricia Vanderwall of Alabama and Karen Rafferty of Florida; grandchildren, Zane and Silva; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, June 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. For the health and safety of the immediate family, face masks are required.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, June 29 at 12:30 p.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse, Richard will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
