Richard “Rick” A. Drumm, 67, of Camillus, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of West Genesee High School.
Rick was employed for 34 years, retiring in 2008 as a supervising heavy fleet mechanic with the Liverpool Central School District. He served his country by formerly working at Camillus Cutlery during the Vietnam war. A former member of the Camillus Fire Dept., Rick also was an avid outdoorsman, especially hunting, fishing, camping and boating. He loved riding his motorcycle but above all, loved spending time with his family and friends.
Rick had a quick wit and was great with the one-liners.
Surviving are his wife, the former Loreen Brady; sons, Aaron Drumm of Syracuse and Jeremy Drumm of Elbridge; stepson, Bryan Mather and stepdaughter, Kaitlyn Mather, both of Liverpool; parents, Richard “Tino” and Doris Martin of Camillus; sisters, Terry (Thomas) Kennedy, Tina (David) Underwood and Beth (Shawn) Rinaldo, all of Camillus, and Helen Connors Groom of Christopher Creek, AZ; brother, Donald Martin of Camillus; beloved uncle, Robert Drumm of Tully; father, H. Richard Drumm of Tully; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, March 19 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, March 20 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. Rick will be laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery, Camillus.
