Richard M. Corey

Richard M. Corey, 93, of Camillus, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Iroquois Nursing Home. He was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area. Richard was an Army veteran and earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from SU. He was employed with the NYS Dept. of Transportation for 43 years before retiring in 1989. Richard enjoyed meteorology, gardening, birdwatching and traveling. Above all, he loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

Richard was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Shirley, in 2020.

Surviving are his daughter, Elizabeth Mahoney of Wayne, PA; son, Thomas (Nancy) Corey of Tully; sister-in-law, Valerie Dusart of Ormond Beach, FL; grandchildren, Peter (Karl Rogers) Corey of Washington, D.C., Andrew Corey of Oakland, CA and Lauren (Jason) Burke of West Chester, PA; great-grandchildren, Ellie Burke and Jason Burke Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no services. Richard will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, DeWitt.
