Richard J. “Dick” Fazio, 90, of Orlando, FL, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, at Orlando Regional Medical Center, surrounded by family. A resident of the Syracuse area, he moved to Camillus in 1966 and to Orlando in 2024. Richard was a graduate of Smith Tech High School and a 1961 graduate of Le Moyne College. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served as an M.P. during the Korean Conflict. Richard was employed for 30 years as a parole officer with the NYS Division of Parole. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Camillus. Richard was a former youth hockey coach for the Midstate, Camillus and Auburn organizations and was a member of the Camillus Sportsmen’s Club. His passion was firearms, becoming a licensed firearms dealer and founding Dick’s Shooters and Reloaders, which he operated for 20 years post-retirement.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, the former Susan Daino; daughters, Lisa (Todd) Mirabito of Camillus and Karen (Steve) McLeod of Bethesda, MD; sons, Richard (Brenda) Jr. of Orlando, FL and Mark (Wendy) of Merrimack, NH; sister, Jean D. Byrne of Camillus; five grandsons; three granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Richard will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Mausoleum, Syracuse.
