Richard F. Bashant, 78, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday at University Hospital. Born in Tupper Lake, he was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area. He retired after 20 years with O.M. Edwards Co. and was a greeter and bagger for several years with P&C Foods in Camillus. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. Richard was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Bashant. Surviving are his daughters, Monique (Bashant) Biggs of Camillus and Nicole Sullivan of Florida; sons, Kenneth Bashant of Camillus and Scott Bashant of Florida; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, July 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Richard's memory to Golisano Children's Hospital, c/o University Hospital, 750 E.
