Richard M. Corp

Richard M. Corp, 88, of Westvale, passed away on Wednesday at Upstate University Hospital. Born and raised in Syracuse, he was a proud graduate of Vocational High School, Class of 1954. Richard continued his education at Syracuse University, earning his master’s degree in 1969. A dedicated public servant, he honorably served his country as a U.S. Army veteran before embarking on a distinguished 26-year career with the Syracuse Fire Department, where he rose to the rank of Deputy Chief.

Following his retirement from the fire department, Richard remained active in the workforce, lending his expertise as a fire inspector for Carrier Corp. He later worked at Carr’s Automotive and finished his career as an estimator for Affordable Windows.

Richard was a devoted family man who cherished time spent with his loved ones. His kindness, dedication, and unwavering support will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Richard was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Carol; and son, Mark.

Surviving are his son, Scott of Syracuse; and several nieces, and nephews.

Per Richard’s request, there will be no services.

Richard will be laid to rest in Park Cemetery, Scotia.
