Richard Buza Sr. entered heaven on January 9, 2021 at the age of 71, following a 35-day battle with COVID-19. He passed peacefully under the incredible care of the ICU staff at Crouse Hospital.
Rich “Richy” was born in Syracuse on June 9, 1949. He lived in Camillus his entire life and attended West Genesee High School. Rich and his wife, Donna, met when they were kids and were married for nearly 53 years. He was a huge Elvis enthusiast, a passionate listener of Gospel music and a devoted Yankees fan.
Rich, his dad and his brother, Steve started Bill Buza & Sons Construction Company in the 1970s. Though he is known around town for his construction company, he is known by his wife and family as the man who loved them unconditionally and loved Jesus with all his heart. We rejoice that he is now with his Savior but also with the family that has gone before him. We can only imagine the fun they are all having!
Rich was predeceased by his parents, Bill Buza and Helen (Evans) Buza; sister, Linda Seniecle; and brother-in-law, Ted Samuel.
Rich is survived by his wife, Donna (Notko) Buza; children, Tammy (Wayne) Buza LaFluer, Rich (Sue) Buza Jr. and Mike (Darcy) Buza; grandchildren, Brittany and Parker Montpetit and Gena, Sophie, Ricky, Brooke, Ty, Coltan and Gavin Buza; siblings, Steve (Sharon) Buza and Robin Samuel; brother-in-law, Bill Seniecle; stepmother, Lydia Buza; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Due to COVID-19 and its restrictions, family will be honoring Rich privately.
Condolences can be sent to Donna Buza at 208 Broadmoor Drive, Camillus NY 13031.
