Rev. Calvin L. Lofstrom, 93, of Camillus, passed away Saturday at Upstate Community Hospital. Born and raised in Oppenheim, he lived in Mayfield, NY until residing in Camillus since 1980. He was a graduate of Oppenheim-Ephratah High School and attended Fulton-Montgomery Community College. A Navy veteran of the Korean War, he served from 1948-1951. Calvin was employed by Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. for 40 years, retiring in 1987. Also a retired Methodist minister, he was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church and served many churches throughout his ministry. He was a lifetime member of, VFW and a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Broadalbin.
Calvin was predeceased by his parents; Oscar and Ethel; son, Terry; brothers, Oscar and Stanley; and sister, Doris.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, the former Jessie Cheney; daughter, Lisa of Liverpool; sons, Kevin of Mayfield and Brian (Kimberly) of Endwell; and grandchildren, Rachael, Jessica and Jana; one niece, two nephews and several cousins.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 25 at 11 a.m. at the. Immanuel United Methodist Church. Calvin will be laid to rest in Mayfield Union Rural Cemetery.
