Regina J. Czerniak, 83, of Utica, formerly of Marcellus, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. Born in Syracuse on Thursday, February 26, 1925, she was the daughter of Stanley Pokrentowski and Malvina Zajka Pokrentowski. Regina lived in Marcellus for 38 years and later resided in Old Forge before moving to Utica in 2003. She was employed by GTE Products Corp. in Camillus, retiring in 1979. A communicant of St. Bartholomew's Church, she served as a lector and Eucharistic minister and was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. She was a member of the Art Center in Old Forge. Regina enjoyed golfing. Another special interest of hers was to travel. She made several trips to her favorite place Hawaii and also visited Australia and Ireland. Her husband, Arthur Joseph Czerniak, died Tuesday, June 17, 1986. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Susan Czerniak of Champlin, Minnesota and Gregory and Rosemary Czerniak of Chittenango; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Stanley Pokrentowski of Baldwinsville; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus with Rev. Michael Donovan officiating. Burial will be private in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Susan G.
