Ray D. Jackson, 87, of the Village of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, one day after celebrating his 87th birthday. Born on December 9, 1937, in Athens, PA, he moved to Camillus in 1951, where he would dedicate his life to his family and his work in the construction industry. Ray devoted over 20 years of his life to the construction industry, contributing his expertise and strong work ethic to Camperlino & Fatti Builders, and later, enriching homes through Camperlino Custom Homes for over a decade. His passion for craftsmanship was matched only by his love for vintage cars and his enthusiasm for the great outdoors, where he found joy in every adventure. Above all his greatest joy was found in time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Ray was predeceased by his parents, Lillian and Fred Jackson; brothers, Gene and Leonard; and sister, Florence Sperduti.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Margaret; children, Anne Jackson, James (Cathryn), Eileen (Joe) Brown, all of Elbridge; grandchildren, Mathew (Katrina) Brown and Mackenzie, Kasey, and Nolan Jackson; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Violet Pickering of Owego and Judy (Michael) Kleinhans of Camillus; and many nieces and nephews.
To celebrate Ray’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home.
