Ramona T. Furness, 76, of Solvay, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Crouse Hospital. Born and raised in Malone, she moved to the Syracuse area in 1984. Ramona attended Franklin Academy High School and earned her associate degree in nursing from North Country Community College. She was a licensed practical nurse for over 40 years. Ramona was a caretaker for many, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed crafts, especially ceramics and spending time with her family.
Ramona was predeceased by her parents, Maurice and O’Bretha Spinner; and sister, Nyoka Gonyea.
Surviving are her children, David (Kimberly) Furness of Syracuse, Nicole (Christopher) Bukowski of Syracuse and Michelle Zellweger of Winthrop; brother, LeRoy (Billie Jo) of Waverly; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Per Ramona’s request, there will be no services.
