Ralph C. Best, 93, of Baldwinsville, passed away Friday at Crouse Hospital. Born in Rochester, he was raised in Castile and Auburn before moving to Syracuse. Ralph was a graduate of Auburn High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University. A World War II and Korean War US Army Air Corps Veteran, he was employed with Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. as an electrical engineer for over 35 years. Ralph was a member of United University Methodist Church, Genealogy Society, National Electric Code, IEEE, Rapha Community and Fraternal order of Masons. Ralph enjoyed working with clay and making pottery, collecting old radios, cooking and traveling to Cape Cod. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends and giving big hugs.
Ralph was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty”, in 2008.
Surviving are his daughter, Catherine Boyer of Baldwinsville; son, James (Anne) of Galway; sister, Margaret McDivitt of MA; grandchildren, Thomas Boyer, Sarah and Matthew Best; and one niece and one nephew.
There will be no services at this time. A celebration of Ralph’s life will be held at a later date.
