Querino Liberatore, 90, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at The Cottages at Garden Grove. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he graduated from East Syracuse High School in 1944 and was an Army veteran. Querino retired in 1986 after 38 years with GE. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of the General Electric Draftsman Assn. and American Legion Post #1276. Querino was predeceased by his wife, Shirley, in 2011; daughter, Mary Ellen Short, in 1987; brothers, Luigi and Frank; and sister, Christine Richer. Surviving are his son, Michael of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Katie DaPice of Downey, CA and Ida VanDewalker of Cicero; brothers, Michael of Upland, CA, Philip of Seneca Falls and Sam of Clay; granddaughter, Kristen (Dr. Jon) Koop of Florence, KY; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, July 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, July 29 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Querino will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
