Pierre "Pete" Metzener

Pierre Metzener, 59, known to friends as "Pete," passed away on May 20, 2019. He was born on April 25, 1960 in Johannesburg, South Africa, moved to Bern, Switzerland in 1963 and immigrated to Syracuse, NY in 1968. After graduating from Corcoran High School, Pete moved to Houston, TX and opened Pete's Floor Covering, which he owned and operated tirelessly for the rest of his life.

Pete’s true passion in life was being on the open road on his Harley with his closest friends. He also loved being with his dog Harvey, who he rescued during a hurricane. Pierre had the most caring heart and was truly loved by everyone in his life. His last unselfish act was having his organs donated to those in need.

Pierre was predeceased by his beloved mother, Myra Abrahamse Coughlin.

He is survived by his father, Heinz (Eileen Pelletier) Metzener of Little River, SC; sister, Celeste (Robert) Greenough of Camillus, NY; niece, Ashleigh Greenough; nephew, Derek Greenough; as well as many other relatives in Switzerland and South Africa.

A memorial service was held on May 25th, 2019 in Cypress, TX.
