Phyllis J. Byrne, 64, of Solvay, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2009 surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter in Lakeland. Born in Syracuse on Tuesday, June 26, 1945, she was the daughter of Clifford Rockwell and Marion Elizabeth Platt Rockwell. She was employed by Bennett Co. Phyllis enjoyed Bingo and traveling to the Turning Stone Casino. She had a bubbly personality and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, John Arnold Byrne, on June 15, 2004 and a sister, Arlene Seaman. Surviving are her daughters, Kelly Hoige (James J. DeSantis) of Lakeland, Rhonda Kirshner (Ed Baptiste) of Solvay, Kim (Stephen) McNamara of Lakeland, Debbie Kirshner (John Whiteford) of Seneca Falls and Barbie Kirshner (Frank Trumble) of Central Square; son, John (Leanne) Byrne II of Texas; sisters, Jeanette Charlebois of Florida, Lynn (Bill) Hanley of South Carolina and Karen (Dave) Fitch of Mattydale; brother, Lee (Lynn) Taylor of California;14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2009 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus with Rev. Peter J. Reddick officiating. Relatives and friends may call Friday, November 27, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Greenlawn Cemetery.
