Phyllis Corcoran, 78, of Camillus, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at University Hospital. She was born and raised in Castile, NY. Phyllis retired in 2012 from ARC of Onondaga. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and an avid SU basketball and football fan. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 1992; sister, Ruth Frederick; and brother, Robert Sherman. Phyllis was the loving mother of Thomas (Linda) of Westvale, Kathleen (James) Marnell of Rochester, Steven (MaryKay) of Warners, and Michael and James (Kristin), both of Camillus. She was the cherished grandmother of John, Megan, Jack, Leah, Kerri, Jessica (Matt), Mark, Laurin, Brianna, Mikayla, Evan and Collin. She is also survived by her best friend and sister, Linda Smith of Castile; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Friday, September 19 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be Saturday, September 20 at 9 a.m. at the funeral home and 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Phyllis will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 5005 Campuswood Dr., East Syracuse, NY 13057.
