Peter L. Demers

November 4, 1947 — April 13, 2018

Peter L. Demers, 70, of Camillus, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. Born in Massena, he was a graduate of Holy Family and SUNY Canton. Peter was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was employed with the State of New York for over 10 years and retired from General Motors after 18 years. Peter enjoyed playing cards at the Tyrol Club and was a member of the Syracuse Chapter Guitar League. He also enjoyed antiques, kayaking, biking and traveling, but above all, loved spending time with his family.

Peter was predeceased by his sister, Lillian Dufresne; and brother, Joseph Demers.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, the former Kay Carr; daughter, Lauren Demers of Philadelphia, PA; sisters, Vivian Boley of Alexandria, VA and Theresa Hannan of Syracuse; brothers, Robert (Shirley) of Alabama and Paul (Sabine) of Mississippi; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Monday, April 16 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

Services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
