Peter A. Ryfun, 65, of Syracuse, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, July 14, 2018. His son and daughter-in-law were by his side. Peter was born on June 18, 1953. He was a son of Marilyn (Stitt) and the late John Ryfun. Peter married Patti (Knickerbocker) Ryfun. They were married for 12 years until her passing. Patti was the love of his life. Peter was a kind and gentle soul, he had a loving and generous heart and was always giving to others. He was a graduate of Westhill High School and employed with University Hospital for 37 years. After retiring at age 55, he continued doing what he loved most, working in his garage with his son and friends and playing taxi to his grandchildren.
Peter was predeceased by his loving brother, Carl.
He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his children; son, Michael and his wife Courtney, who was like a daughter to him; daughters, Christina (David) Brand and Cheryl (Marco) St. Fleur; adoring grandchildren, Jaiden, Emily, Caitlynn, Patrick, Lawson and Angelina; loving brothers, Daniel (Lorrie) and Paul; sisters, Ruth (Tom) Hayes-Morrison and Trish (Dave) Henry; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Jeff) Fitzgerald; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus on Friday, July 20 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Services will be held at Vineyard Church, 312 Lakeside Rd., Syracuse on Saturday, July 21 at 10 a.m. Peter will be laid to rest in Howlett Hill Cemetery, Camillus.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Howlett Hill Fire Dept., 3384 Howlett Hill Rd., Syracuse, NY 13215.
