Peggy (Williams) Anthony, 95, of Camillus, passed away peacefully at home on August 14, 2024. A lifetime resident of Camillus, she attended Camillus High School before working at Camillus Cutlery where she met her husband, Michael. Peggy was a full-time homemaker and mother, raising four daughters. Eventually entering the workforce, she was employed by Skaneateles Savings Bank and the West Genesee School District accounting department.
Peggy had many interests. She enjoyed cooking, golfing, walking, knitting, crocheting, and most of all, sewing. As an expert seamstress, Peggy sewed for a bridal salon and eventually from her home.
Each winter, for over 20 years, Peggy and her husband retreated to New Smyrna Beach, FL, enjoying sunshine, family, and friends.
Peggy was predeceased by her husband, Michael, in 2019; parents, Robert and Pearl (Koegel) Williams; sister, Patricia Thomas; and son-in-law, Robin (Denise) Trehaeven.
She leaves behind her daughters, Sandra (John) Gunn of Valrico, FL, Michelle (James) Hunt of Skaneateles, Denise Anthony of Denver, CO, and Roberta (Thomas) Lundy of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Christopher Gunn, Betsy (Rod) Chilton, James (Kristin) Hunt, Timothy (Lindsay) Hunt, Elissa (Wes) Tennyson, Michael (Elaine) Lundy, and Andrea Shaw; great-grandchildren, Liam, Steffi, Ethan, Colby, Cambell, Dylan, Hayes, Ellie, Maggie, Ivy, and Jaiden; lifelong friend, neighbor and part of our family, Sharon Coon; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank Peggy’s full-time caregivers, Nadia Velesnitskiy and Luba Kahsay, for their wonderful and loving care.
To celebrate Peggy’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home.
Peggy will be laid to rest in Belle Isle Cemetery, Warners.
